How to Apply

We’ve tried to make our Opportunity Grant application process as straightforward as possible. You can download an application form below, plus a copy of our application guidelines, which we recommend you read closely to make sure you give yourself the best possible chance for success.

We welcome applications directly from the applicant, with the required sponsor support statement attached, OR from an eligible sponsor on behalf of the young person applying for grant funds.

As part of the application process:

• Applicants will be asked for information about themselves, their goal and why they need financial help to achieve it. They will be asked to detail the exact costs involved and how any grant funding will be used to cover these.

• The completed application, including the sponsor support statement, will be checked against our eligibility criteria and application guidelines. If these are fulfilled we will contact the sponsor, before reviewing the application at our next available trustee meeting.

• Applicants and sponsors will be notified of the decision made, and successful applicants will be informed of the grant amount to be awarded.

• Any funds awarded will be paid to the sponsor organisation, rather than directly to the grant applicant.

• The trustees of the David Lewis Association retain full discretion in the application process, and their grant-making decisions are final.
